The central position within this curatorial project is the effort to retrospectively reconstruct a set of diploma theses of students and theirs professors, nowadays already established artists who finished their studies at the Prague Academy of Fine Arts in the 1993-1994 academic year.The aim of this exhibition is to contribute to several earlier attempts to re-evaluate the current art framework of the 1990s. It is based on the belief that it is precisely the presence of a particular article of back-chained history that can give rise to a new space for further contextualisation of the input works, especially in the level of the personal stories of their creators. In pursuing the most objective approach, individual works of art are viewed as certain historical documents, not surpassing the authenticity of other artefacts presented (text and pictorial documentation), fragmentarily referring to the sometimes non-existent works.
